Family stories and histories of the earliest generations of the Shelor family in America. The descendants of Lawrence Shelor, immigrant, and particularly the descendants of Daniel Shelor in Virginia.. Over 170 black and white family photos and uncounted stories of the family through over nine generations.
In 1990 three branches of the Shelor family embarked upon an ambitious journey which, after five years of collecting and research and two years of writing, has resulted in a comprehensive series of Shelor Family Genealogies as well as a volume that contains many stories and early history of the Shelor Family in America. For the next ten years the genealogies were printed on a home computer as they were requested at great expense of time and materials. Now, thanks to advances in technology over the past few years, these genealogies will soon be available in a much more accessible form.

Currently we are working on the descendants of Daniel Shelor's son, Daniel. Sue Jefferson Shelor
The Shelor Book, founded upon the early research of Sue Jefferson Shelor and her 1938 book, Pioneers and their Coats of Arms of Floyd County, Virginia, which was republished in 1961. Thanks to the new research of many genealogists in the family and to the dedication of Nola Albert, Ruth Jean Bolt and Betsy Owen in sharing and obtaining stories about the family, the updated family history, called The Hills Touch Heaven is a valuable resource for descendants that are looking for their roots or want to understand their heritage. In addition, valuable details about the local history of Floyd and Patrick Counties, Virginia, and beyond are revealed in the stories of the daily lives of the Shelors and their connections.
